The pure nobility of wood

At Concept Giroux, we use no paint or stain, only pure, natural wood. For products intended for food preparation, we apply a heavy-duty mineral oil, while other products receive a maintenance-free acrylic urethane finish for added protection. Our finish is completely matte and colorless.

This approach allows the wood’s natural colors and unique characteristics to shine through. It also means you never have to worry about refinishing the color if the surface is ever scratched.

Wormy maple

Wormy maple is naturally marked by the activity of small beetles. As these insects burrow into the wood, they promote the growth of a fungus that creates unique streaks and discoloration. Each piece features its own distinctive patterns, making Wormy maple a truly unique wood species.

Hickory

Hickory is an exceptionally hard and dense North American hardwood, with tones ranging from creamy white to light brown. Its grain can feature unique streaks and color variations, creating a dynamic and authentic appearance.

Walnut

Walnut is distinguished by sapwood ranging from creamy white to yellowish-gray, while its heartwood varies from rich, deep brown to almost black with purplish tones. Its expressive grain and contrasting shades give it a striking visual richness.

Cherry wood

The sapwood of cherry wood is very pale yellow, while its heartwood features warm brown tones with subtle reddish hues. Over time, its color deepens and becomes richer and warmer.

Sapele

Sapele is an exotic hardwood with warm tones, featuring heartwood that ranges from pinkish brown to coppery reddish brown. Its color deepens over time, while its grain adds beautiful visual richness. It is also known for its subtle fragrance reminiscent of cedar.

Mahogany

Mahogany has a pinkish-gray tone when freshly cut. When exposed to light, it gradually develops purplish hues before deepening into a rich, dark reddish-brown as it ages. Its fine, even grain gives it a rich and refined appearance.

Red oak

Red oak reveals warm tones ranging from pink to brown, giving it a natural and traditional look. Its open, porous grain accentuates the wood’s natural movement, adding distinctive texture and a beautiful visual presence.

Iroko

Iroko is an exotic hardwood native to Africa, known for its warm, golden tones. When exposed to natural light, it gradually develops a beautiful amber color that deepens and develops a rich patina over time.

White oak

White oak is distinguished by its nearly white sapwood and heartwood featuring shades of brown and gray. Its pronounced, open grain creates a rich texture and distinctive natural character, highlighting the depth and movement of the wood.

Yellow birch

Yellow birch is characterized by a creamy color with subtle brownish tones. This moderately hard wood features a fine, closed, uniform grain, giving it a soft, understated, and elegant appearance with a remarkably consistent texture.

White ash

Ash ranges in color from creamy white to light brown, sometimes featuring darker tones. Its pronounced, open grain gives it a rich texture and distinctive natural character.

Maple

The sapwood of maple is generally white, sometimes with a subtle reddish-brown tint. Its heartwood ranges from reddish-brown to darker brown tones. Its fine, even grain gives it a clean and elegant appearance.
